Our global refining network produces a wide range of high-quality fuels and essential petroleum products, distributed through our extensive marketing, lubricants, and supply chains. These products power diverse industries and meet the changing energy needs of consumers worldwide. At the heart of our operations is a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and environmental responsibility. Protecting people, communities, and the planet is one of our highest priorities. To strengthen this commitment, we have recently upgraded several refineries with state-of-the-art technologies that improve efficiency, safety, and environmental performance. We have also rolled out a comprehensive Loss Prevention System (LPS) across all facilities. This behavior-based safety program fosters a proactive culture where injury-free and incident-free operations are the standard. By embedding safety into daily practices, we not only safeguard our workforce but also ensure consistent, competitive performance in today’s rapidly evolving energy landscape.

Seven of our refineries account for more than 95% of our total crude oil refining capacity, providing consistent, high-volume output to meet international demand. Five of these core refineries—located in Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, and in Richmond and El Segundo, California—are strategically positioned to supply refined products across the Pacific Basin, fueling some of the world’s fastest-growing economies. The other two refineries, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and Pasadena, Texas, focus on serving energy needs across the Atlantic Basin. Equipped with advanced processing technologies, many of these facilities can efficiently refine heavy and sour crudes into a broad range of high-value products, including transportation fuels, jet fuel, diesel, and specialty chemicals. In May 2019, we expanded our refining footprint with the acquisition of the Pasadena Refinery, a facility capable of processing 110,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Seamlessly integrated with our Pascagoula Refinery and Houston blending centers, this acquisition enhances the processing of equity Permian light crude, increasing efficiency, flexibility, and overall downstream value. Strengthening our position in the Gulf Coast refining market, this investment aligns with our long-term strategy of delivering reliable, competitive energy solutions to global markets.

Transporting six massive coke drums through the streets of Los Angeles’ South Bay may have taken only a few nights, but the achievement was the culmination of nearly four years of meticulous planning, coordination, and disciplined execution. The project’s primary objective was to safely remove six aging drums, originally installed in the 1960s, and replace them with modern, high-performance versions engineered to improve efficiency and reliability in refining operations. This complex effort required seamless collaboration among multiple teams, agencies, and community stakeholders. Each phase—from fabrication and transportation to installation and commissioning—was executed with precision. Moving drums weighing more than 500,000 pounds each through urban streets demanded highly specialized logistics to minimize disruption. Above all, the operation was grounded in an uncompromising commitment to safety and risk management. Through advanced engineering, disciplined execution, and a culture of accountability, the entire project was completed without incident or injury. This success represents not only a significant milestone in the El Segundo Refinery’s modernization program, but also a powerful example of our dedication to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and community stewardship.
